Who Is Geoff Kyle?

25 Years+ of Mountain Experience

My name is Geoff Kyle and this has been my playground for the past 25 years. I have explored and shredded this terrain for more than half my life and found some of the most amazing secret spots the mountains have to offer.

From the time I arrived in Whistler I’ve had careers as a fishing guide, river guide and a snowmobile guide for high-end adventure companies. Guiding and teaching are second nature to me. I want to show people the incredible places I’ve been and take them on the amazing journey to get them there.

Originally from Halifax Nova Scotia, I moved to Whistler in 1992. I managed to land two great jobs right away working for Whistler Mountain in the day and a heli-ski company in the evenings. After having the benefit of heli-skiing the ski hill didn’t seem as appealing for me anymore. Shortly thereafter, I picked up my first Ski-Doo in 1994. This was the perfect machine to get me into the mountains so I could ski untracked lines all day long.

After trial and error, disappointment and success, I started to put the skills together I needed to enjoy the mountains and make it back home at the end of the day. After a couple of seasons, I started leaving my skis at home. My addiction to adrenaline and adventure exploded. My risk factor went up and I found myself taking gnarlier and more aggressive lines on my sled.

After years or riding and learning from other experienced riders like Rob Alford (one of the best technical riders I know), I started my filming career as a big mountain freeride sledder in 2000. Each year, progressing and pushing the boundaries was a must.
I feel that with my 18 years experience of sledding in some of the most epic conditions and terrain gives me the ability to bring other sledders closer to the skill level it takes to conquer what the back-country has to offer.

Some of my other hobbies include: Dirt biking, fishing, hunting, downhill mountain biking and golfing.

Film experience

I have been featured in over 30 films, including:

  • Slednecks

  • 2 Stroke Cold Smoke

  • Sled Heads

  • Braaap

  • Roops of Hazards

  • Turnigan Hardcore

  • Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Circus
